Re: siecento sporting radiator change?????

i believe the front bumper may have to come off to get access to radiator, thats a bit of a pain to remove as front wheels will need to come off

Re: siecento sporting radiator change?????

Not sure if the bumper has to come off, but it certainly makes the job easier. If your replacing the rad make sure you put a alloy one back on. Means it won't corrode again. I got mine from a company called GGB Engineering 01274 733727. Sent it next day for a good price.

Re: siecento sporting radiator change?????

ive done it recently.. seems impossible to do without the bumper off... i dont know how peeps have done it with it on??

anyways... yea its quite easy just time consuming... thats why it will be expensive if u take it somewhere. this is how i did mine! dont blame me if you fook ya car up! this is how i did mine and it worked for me! :P

basically..

under arch plastic has to come off to get at bumper
bumper off (youl need an allen key)
bottom hose off... dont let the coolent piss all down your sleeve tho like me! :P

next id run the hose pipe thru the expansion tank...
take off all other hoses on the rad.. you will need 2 jubillee clips to replace the **** ones fiat put on..
get a temperature switch too while your at it saves ripping it to bits again if it fails in a few mths (for the sake of a fiver) it screws into the side of the rad.

take off the fan from old rad and put it on the new one.. use new jubillee clips on the two big hoses.. youl need a really small jubilee clip for a small hose that comes out of the top left of the rad too.

tighten everything up as you found... it takes 4 litres of fluild (i did half and half) take bleed screws out (theres 2) one to the right of the battery on the bulk head the other by the screen wash bottle.. squeeze bottom pipe to encourage air to come out when filling... you should get liquid coming from the bleed screws when all the air is out, at that point replace bleed screws. check for leaks.. tighten as necesary check the fan spins free (by hand) give it a turn! oohh er! :P

turn the blower control onto hot... (i didnt put the fans on just put it on hot setting)

run it... wait for the engine to warm... and the fan should kick in.... wait for it to cool right down re-check coolent level (mine needed a bit moer than 4 l)

jobs a good un'

well thats my version anyways!!

hope this helps

Alfie
