| Red fuel injection light comes on radomly Hi everyone, this is my first post so please bear with me. My fuel injection light comes on seemingly randomly and for no apprent reason. Once its on engine acts weird and idles strangly then its goes off again and works fine. Also, fuel tank seems to leak, only a little and only when the tank is full or nearly full. Any ideas? Thanks

| this is where i stand | Re: Red fuel injection light comes on radomly fuel tank - there was a recall on all cinqs to have the tank replaced. Check if yours has been done. when you say acts weird, do you mean it hesitates as if it has no power? That to me would suggest lambda, or map sensor. The odd idling to me would hint more towards the MAP sensor. They are around £40quid to buy, and a sinch to fit. To be sure tho, you are better off taking it to a garage to have the fault codes read from the ECU, as it could be either sensor (or something else). Having the fault codes read will tell you which sensor it is, and save you needlessly replacing other sensors. Expect to pay around £20 - £30 for an ECU diaganostic, have a look in the yellow pages for some auto electrics and ECU places - FIAT tend to charge more than these places. Welcome to the forum

| Re: Red fuel injection light comes on radomly Cheers for advice, I'll check yellow pages asap because its really annoying me. As for fuel tank, I have no idea whether its been replaced or not as only brought car second hand in August. Begining to get the feeling I was ripped off tho, as had loads of work done; new exhaust, new brake disks and pads, 4 new tyres and there is still loads of niggiling probplems like the back light for the clock don't work and i can't seem to fit the generic ones from Halfords. I also only have one Blue key and as I'm sure you know costs loads to get new one. Tho I do an amazing amount of miles in it (across the country and back every two weeks) in a 900cc car. Like the car loads, but dunno whether just to cut my loses and start again! Cheers anyhow

| Re: Red fuel injection light comes on radomly My Cinq had a similar problem . A used MAP sensor (£3 from the scrappy) sorted it . John
