Cinq Sporting Electrical Problem - Brake lights/rear lights

Can anyone out there help me please??

Cinq Sporting 97R
Electrical problem on Fuse 13 (7.5amp). The fuse blows - but not straight away.

With lights on - without pressing the brake, the brake lights also come on
With lights off - press brake and the dash lights (speedo/tacho) come on

Realise there is a short somewhere but unable to find it.
Checked brake switch, and found ok

Anyone have any ideas?

Regards,
namb

UPDATE:
PROBLEM SORTED - THERE WAS A SHORT BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT FILAMENTS. NOTICED WHEN EACH BULB WAS EXAMINED CAREFULLY. THE TAG HOLDING THE FILAMENT HAD OPENED AND BREACHED THE GAP BETWEEN THE FILAMENT POSTS. THIS THEREFORE CAUSED THE SHORT - FUSE BLOWING - ALONG WITH INDUCING THE OTHER CIRCUITS.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS....
REGARDS,
NAMB

Have you replaced any bulbs recently, could be you have the wrong wattage?

I had this, but my dash lights were coming on when i braked.

Maybe you've replaced a twin filament bulb with a singular, brake lights also sharded with side light, this could be your problem.

The exact same thing happened to me when i out the reverse bulb into the brake light socket and the brake bulb into the reverse one.

I think this would be what liam said ...

I have put a 10amp fuse in there now - replacing the 7.5 and it has worked for about a month like it
