Took my car to a local garage to get the nearside rear bearing fixed because the noise was driving me insane. Booked the car in, all ok, mechanic said it would cost me around £60, fair enough price, considering i couldn't be arsed taking the drums apart. Anyway 30 mins later mechanic calls me to say that the £60 it was going to cost will now cost you around £200. Couldn't believe it, so decided to take a trip to the garage to see for myself what was wrong with my cinq. Turns out the bearing I thought had gone was actually the offside rear bearing along with the shoes falling off when he took apart the drum, both rear cylinders had seized, handbrake cable also needed replacing and obviously the shoes on the nearside also needed replacing. I noticed though for a while that the shoes were sticking but couldn't do anything cause the old funds were low so now was the perfect time cause i could afford it. The mechanic managed to fix my car up the same day, picked it up and straight away it was perfect, the back-end felt more free and performance was also better. But with all cinqs I noticed after a week the handbrake was becoming really slack and juddering as I was putting it on, so took another trip to the garage and he had to fit another handbrake cable as he couldn't diagnosed the problem with the one he had just put on my car, the one now is alright, but feels like it getting loser every time i use my car...great stuff huh?!
