| ...done | Re: Help! Can't remove steering wheel! y dont u take the negative bit off the battery an stop the horn from working?? then get a massive long screw driver or crowbar thingy an stick it under the center cap an bloody push on it till the cap comes off. basically it is held on wieh 3 little tabs that need to b pushed back, or destroyed with brute force! then when u get the center cap off there is a huge bolt in the middle, 19mm i think but dont quote me, that can b very very stiff to move! get that of an pull the wheel, again quite hard to do, dont hit yourself in the face with it! trust me. slide the boss over the thingy the nut came off, line up the steeringwheel, remembering to attach the horn again before screwing it back on. bingo nice new steering wheel, p.s all this is in the haynes maunal! Can't remove steering wheel! shouldnt need much, i managed to get both the one off the abarth an my imola with no problems, if u use a couple of screw drivers u can peel it off a bit, then slide 1 driver around it to peel the rest of it off, then... when u can get your fingers under it u can give it a good pull!

| mad bad and very very old | Re: Help! Can't remove steering wheel! When you have taken the centre cover off and located the 24mm nut, loosen said nut. DO NOT REMOVE the nut. Pull the old wheel towards you. It needs load of grunt. If you remove the nut you will get a face full of steering wheel when it finally lets go. Once the wheel is off the splines you can remove the nut. Cheers D

| Re: Help! Can't remove steering wheel! Hi, Centre cap on mine comes off with ur fingers, just grab it and pull( and the centre cap......hehe!). When you're taking the wheel off leave the nut on as rallycinq says, but when you pull the wheel towards you, try to move it from side to side as well, comes off easier that way. Thanks Paul T
