Exhaust from fastfiat

Anyone who can help please who knows or has bought a exhaust for sei or cinq from fastfiat.

Am allowed by insurance to change exhaust backbox but on fastfiat for sei the 4" one, foned guy and he says its not just backbox, it has another pipe to cat?? correct? is this still pretty much the same thing?

Because can buy them to replace whole exhaust, how far along the exhaust is the change done to replace the sportex one(hope that makes sense and you know what im trying to say)
Thanx

Re: Exhaust from fastfiat

i think the sportex exhaust is just a backbox, exhausts that connect to the back of the CAT are exhaust systems and replace the backbox and the centre pipe. check with your insurance company again on this one, id imagine that they'd okay it because it doesnt offer a huge advantage over backboxes on their own i imagine

I have a Peco system on mine, been told that they are identical to the Janspeed. Sounds very good but for me a bit too loud when cruising at high speed on the motorway. The system comes in two pieces but only replaces the original system which is one piece. For some systems (Laser for example) you have to retain part of the existing system by cutting part off.

Re: Exhaust from fastfiat

so a system only goes as far as the cat and is a system a backbox and a little bit of centre pipe really? that just attaches to part of old centre pipe?
i dont want a change in performance, not bothered about that right now so am i better going for just a backbox or system. Even a system shouldnt really improve performance is just effectively changing centre pipe with one they give u as well??
and last question for a million pounds, lol, sorry about questions but no nothing about exhausts, are the exhaust system on my 03 active mpi the same as the sporting mpi, i.e if i where to change my backbox to the 3" sportex or janspeed before getting sporting rear bumper it will still come out the same place where the hole already is on the sporting bumper when i later put one on?

Re: Exhaust from fastfiat

I think, on the 899cc Sei's, the Fiat back boxes come with the centre pipe too. They come together in one!

Re: Exhaust from fastfiat

Fiat list 5 different partnumbers for the 1108mpi. with S, SX and Van as different from the Sporting, and a different type for the "157" gearbox. If you give me your VIN number I can tell you what type yours is but it looks as though it will be different from the sporting.

But the only way you can really tell is to check the actual position of your exhaust against a sporting (measure from the wheel centre?).

regards,

Michael

Re: Exhaust from fastfiat

and if i'm getting a system, i.e centre pipe and tailbox then it should end up in same place as sporting because surely the centre pipe and cat are in the same place on all 1.1 mpi seis???
