One question are the cambelts the same as the 1108?
As i'm having to fit a new one at the same time as my water pump...

Cheers
Jamie

P.s Any tips v.much welcome.....

Oh and if anyones done a picture diary of the swap that would be great

Re: Decided to treat myself!

Nope, theyre a good 15mm longer- 3 extra teeth between calibration marks.

Should replace it at the same time as putting the engine really- its easier with the engine out of the car, cos theyre not expensive.

I have some piccys of the engine being dismantled, removed and the 1242cc cleanmed, but none of the install (but its the same as taking it out, just in reverse!), theyre somewhere on t'internet, will have to find them and link later!

Re: Decided to treat myself!

yeah, but dave said a 75 will work as long as you keep the 1108 head on it

Re: Decided to treat myself!

Mine's knocking on 70K+ so not worth that much.

But more than likely will put it on ebay or local free ads.

That wont be till after christmas though when the new one is in place!

Re: Decided to treat myself!

Use engine parts from the donor car - e.g. Punto cambelt, tensioner etc.

Don't forget the exhaust - you need a spacer or to have the front pipe cut and extended.
