Re: raid induction kit - any good?

i just wondered if anyone had any experience of them removing that irritating dip in power - that's the main reason i'd want an induction kit

Re: raid induction kit - any good?

Peeps have induction kits and still have the flat spots so this won't help I'm afraid.

Eh, you don't/can't mate without making the whole thing financially crazy.

Just one of those things I'm afraid. I really hope it doesn't change your views on he Cinq though?

Re: raid induction kit - any good?

just seems to be down to engine design - just keep the revs over 3000

an induction kit reduces the flat spot slightly, but wont cure it. I wonder if a hotter cam would cure it, or just move it?

Re: raid induction kit - any good?

I'm sure it is down to a number of factors like <gets ready to be wrong> inlet manifold design, TB design, ECU map etc

Pete, does the 1242 turbo have a flat spot?

If you can get a proper cold air intake - ideally you want an enclosed remote filter such as a Green Twister ducted from the front grille or wheel arch - it helps a hell of a lot. Good plugs and leads, decent fuel help too - a superchip or starchip eliminates the problem though. The oil breather can have an effect too, strangely.

Liam, once the intake temp rises when you've been driving a bit (haven't got the intercooler on yet) then yep - quite a big flatspot until the dump valve shuts and the boost kicks in. Can make for lumpy jerky progress at times.

Re: raid induction kit - any good?

yup ive had it on for a few weeks now.

does the same job that the K&N does so its not bad considering that alot of people in the modifying world will swear by k&n.. although i wouldnt.

anyway, yeah its not bad although the pic is a little missleading on the auction, it just sits on top of the throttle body and doesnt have any extra tubing (except for a cold air duct) but it does come with an oil breather.

go for it, its cheap and cheerful!

Ps. I dont have and have never had a flatspot in my cinq.

Re: raid induction kit - any good?

i feel the k&n is seriously over rated anyways, with the extra power that it actually gives. i am gonna save some cash and get the better looking gsr one (red!), give it a few months tho.....
