is the wire on the head unit "plugged in" to the head unit? if so then this is where your two ends might go

Re: Connecting a head unit... Help?

The car has ISO connectors, which it should. The Sony should also. Is this a new head unit, or one from another car?

Cheers

You might need a Peugeot/ISO connector.

Cheers

Re: Connecting a head unit... Help?

hmm the 2 socket in your called a ISO, so you need an iso adaptor for your head unit ..

Badically what make is your head unit ?? go to halfords and ask a iso adaptor for that head unit, they should have one, if it is a common make!

Re: Connecting a head unit... Help?

Odds are you'll need an ISO to Fiat adapter if the HU has an ISO adaptor on the back (IIRC Sony, Kenwood, Alpine and a few others dont), to connect the HU to the car harness. Ive got one doing nothing sat in my garage if you need one.

Talking Re: Connecting a head unit... Help?

Hi mate, hope im not too late to help. Im a vehicle audio/accessory fitter, so i can help you here.

The stereo should have a single plug going into the back of it, from that you should have several wires going to one plug and several wires going to the other (these plug into the car loom). One plug is the power block (usually has red and yellow wires attached), and the other is the speaker block, usually eight wires. These two blocks are called iso connectors. unless you are fitting any other bits like a subwoofer or amp, you can ignore any loose wires.

Next, you should have:

1) If the car is standard, two plugs in the dash that will not plug into the iso connectors attached to the stereo.

2) Several wires hanging out in all directions and various bullet/spade connectors everywhere.

Hopefully its the first issue so all you need is a loom that acts as an adapter to convert the car plugs to the iso plugs, i think for the cinq. its a PC2-45-4, made by Autoleads.

Check this picture out: http://www.autoleads.co.uk/products/harness.html
The plugs on the left will match the car plugs and the stereo loom will plug onto the right handside of the loom.
You can definately buy these from Halfords for about 15-20quid. Ive also seen them on ebay.

Actually...just found this.....
http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_Stereo_f.../cinquento.htm

This is what you need, also the website is offering a good price.

Hope this helps,
