Are these worth 101 quid?

My seicento sportings handling like a jumper my nan's nitted, so i think need some new bushes but I don't know much about this sort of thing. the general handling's really gone down hill, it sways and drifts really bad, theres also a knocking from the rear, I'm pritty sure its either down to a worn bush or a buggered shock absorber. would these sort the problem or could the problem be something worse? also would standard bushes be worth buying insted?

Thanks ya'll

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

Generally, orrible handling can be down to knackered bushes (knocking from back or front), top mounts (squeaking or knocking from the front) or buggered shocks (check for oil misting).

You didn't post the link, so I can't be absolutely sure what you're refering to.

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

They are worthwhile. At the back they're easier to fit than the stock ones (which FIAT won't sell you, but can be obtained from you know who).

Price seems OK, but best do a comparison.

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

on a side note I think I've worked out a way to remove the old bushes without risking any weakening off the trailing arms. I've just got to turn down a piece of steel to the right dia before trying this.

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

I bought my rear powerflex bushes from Fluffy the Impaler. Were much cheaper than all the other places I tried. (not advertising, just stating fact)

I like the bit in that auction link 'No special tools are needed to fit' makes it sound like its an 'easy' swap

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

Bushes are a consumable item on a car that normally get neglected by most drivers

The powerflex ones are definately the ones I would go with over standard Fiat items although price could dictate the choice

Also have you had a look to check yours are definately worn and that it's not something else? Eg check shocks aren;t leaking and the springs are in good condition?

Also what suspension set up are you running?

Ditto, cheaper than from Powerflex themselves!

They don't need special tools to fit the rears.. just to remove the old ones. Sure you need a press for the fronts though

Re: Are these worth 101 quid?

Got a full set on mine. About £50 each end, so you've foundd a normal price.

Rears were worth it as it'd would snake & Buck on fast corners. Harder to fit than the front.

Fronts were not really worth it. Fitted them and then the ball joints on the arms went so i had to buy new arms that come with new bushes already.

If you're going to the hassle of taking the arms off, replace them. In fact, save yoru money on the front and just buy new arms when needed.

the oil filled ones were just normal shockers, the gas ones have a pisssss sound when you hit a bump. I didn't know there were 2 types, the gas ones shuld have been more but they sent the wrong ones so they said.

I have no idea if there really is a diffrence but they do make a noise.
