| Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Hi, I have tried searching but cant seem to find anything once the hub nut is removed. Please can anyone advise me on how the wheel hub is removed. I have removed the hub nut and the wheel studs, brake disc and wheel spacer are removed. But I can not get the hub to budge. I thought it would of come away quite easy but no such luck. Do I need to use a hub puller or am I missing something else? Thanks

| Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Didn,t realise these needed to be removed to take the hub off. Not looking to remove the upright, just need to replace hub as it has a damaged bolt hole.

| Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Thanks for your help! Oh, sorry forgot to say the caliper is also removed (both parts) came off before the disc. Just cant work out why the hub will not now come off. Could it just be tight on the splines and needs to be pulled mechanically?

| Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Needed to replace brake discs and two of the wheel studs(stubborn little S**Ts) holding discs to hub have cross threaded an fubbard the holes so new hub required. Do I need to removed the balljoint nut and trackrod nut just to remove the hub then?

You might, though, be able to clean up the threads with an M12 x 1.25 tap (or find someone who has one). From memory, the Shui stuff is more expensive 'cos of the ABS.

| Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! The only reason when u want to take the hub out is if is bent or u want to replace wheel bearing.

| Get a wriggle on! | Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! if its the small bolts that have stuck in the hub flange, and not the wheel bolts, then what I would do is grind them flat to the hub, pop the disc and spacer back on, line up the holes when you put the wheel on, the disc and spacer are located on the hub flange, so is the wheel, it might save you a bit of hassle. flange, hmm now theres a word

| custodian of imola blue | Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Can't find a useful diagram, but looking at the Haynes, I think you remove the upright, remove the circlip at the rear of the hub carrier, and press it out. If a tap doesn't clean up the thread to satisfaction, it can always be helicoiled. IIRC, it's fairly common for the abarth studs to corrode at the rear, where they are a bit too long, thus mucking up the thread.

| Re: Schumacher Hub Removal Urgent Help Please!! Am completely lost, sounds like you guys got a different car ?? IS he talking about wheels stud or wheel nuts ???? Or something completely different ?? I thought he had wheels stud and the thread is ****ed, so he need to replace the stud. IF that is the case, he can just use stud extrator ?? Ming
