Re: new TB

Peice of piss to make the p75 one fit! its in my blog.
you use your original top plate (with the injector) then dremal out the top part of the p75 tb to match the part with the injector.
oh and you dremal out the spacer to.

about 2 hours work but puts a grin on your face the first turn of the key

if you have the original metal spacer from the p75. send it me and ill machine it down for you. its a little too tall for the cinq but its better then the weird 30mm fiber one. (and iirc when i tried to work with it. it jsut made tons of nasty dust)

oh and if youre gental. take the tb apart
makes it a million times easier to work on, also you can smooth the edges of the rod that holds the butterfly plate (gives you just that little extra flow at full throttle

Re: new TB

iirc it was still a little to tall so the bolts never reached many threads. so I think I had to remove one of the washers on the bolts (theres two i think)

I cant really remember it all as it was a big rush to get it done for a sprint the next day. but it works perfect

Re: new TB

i have done it as well using the 75 and standard T.B and the performance is sooo much better, you will notice it straight away. believe me 30 or 32 mm to 38mm is like having a single choke carb to a twin choke (showing my age here).
i used a dremel to open the throat and polish it with fine wet and dry paper. i used the plastic spacer as found on the original and open it up to fit the modified T.B. and then made my own gasket with ordinary thick gasket paper and it worked a threat.

Re: new TB

erm you can take quite alot off but its still slighly taller then the fiber one
I only did it cos it seemed better to me. it saved boaring out the fiber spacer.

Im not sure what the weird stuff is but when i tried to bore it out it just made loads of dust and smelt of burning MDF. it never machined nice at all. the tool would sink into the stuff and fluff it up.

I might try and find it now and see if i can find a way to cut it.
if i can get it 10mm shorter then it is it will work with a standerd airbox right?

Re: new TB

the smell was nasty and it was dusty like cutting MDF. i used a dremel initially but to take out the fluffy bit i used wet and dry sandpaper i think 400 grade with wd40 and it turn out ok.
i noticed the difference up the hill as well.
your right about the noise. it sound well good. my car is 1.1 with a 4x4 cam and ported head and it is much much quicker than what it was before. my friends can't believe it is a 1.1.

Re: new TB

Ive been thinking about this. it wont work will it(the spacer thing) the reason its high is the block is high. making the spacer smaller will drop the TB but the cam cover is still high and the box rests on that. also it will no longer fit.

Is this thread your referring to?

Your right, that certainly was a long time ago. . . But I've still got it fitted to my Cinq, and to this day it's never given me a problem
