| Sodding Fan will not work! [Right rant mode starting now..] How it all started, back in Dec 2003 I was stuck in traffic, yippee, cooling system heated up, fan kicked in and the car overheated. At the weekend after this happened I had to replace the fan and the "motor" failed and rusted away. So Brought another one from the scrap it works as I've tested it with a fused feed from the battery. Right, all is okay - not. For some reason, I get to overheat the car and the fan will not kick in. Pull the plug out of the rad (899 cc, green connecter in the rad) and bypassed this with a paperclip - nothing, fan will not work. Check fuse (from drivers side fuse box) with multimeter and fuse is okay. Striped side plastic to check power supply. reading is 0v with the bypass paperclip or plugged back into the rad. So the power is not getting there. What am I doing wrong? Is there something else i've missed???? Is there another switch or fuse gone bust? (Note, I have seen something behind the battery that say 30amp and a fan shape on it - is this another fuse for the fan, but I can't access it.) HELP!!!! | Note, where is the thermostat on a 899cc engine??? This is the only thing I've not tested? If this is shot - is it a cheap thing from fiat or halfords? Shopping List: -40mm Lowing Springs Cadamuro Rear Spoiler Window Tints Scrapped 1.2 Punto

| Don't know if this is the themostat, but on one of the hoses from the rad to the engine block, there is a bolt on the bulkhead with a electonic plug coming out of it. It does look to be a switch or somesort? However the plug was lose - the metal clamp was half on/off and plug can wobble out. Took the plug out and looked into the pins - one of the pins was pushed right in so no electical contact. Pulled it back out again and now going to see if this has sorted the problem out. I still believe this has all happened since the last "garage" service that it had[:(!] - also 1 week after the "service" backbox rusted away on one of the joints, brake cable snaps (too tight), and maps sensor pipe "falls" off.
