Engine architecture is different (SuperFIRE), so not bolt for bolt swap.

Take thats a 1800 with a Turbot? theres a chance the block and gearbox may not physically fit into the engine bay! Id say thats going to be "rip the whole front end off" territory- like fitting a Punto GT n-jin!

But it could be breathed on by alfanige I think:D

boot delock soon, Induction in development!

y10 engine= weak
Sorry but your wrong they're good for 120bhp+
I think this would def be a good conversion, obviously dependant on how hard it would be to fit.

Regards Jamie

A. of B., have you fitted the 1242 engine into your cinq?

Which engine is it, the 8v single or multipoint or is it even the 16v?

Did you do the conversion yourself? If not which garage did you use cos im guessing it was one in Manc and id like to have a word about a similar thing in my Uno...

he did it himself, it was the mpi but he's used the head from his 1108 (so its spi) so as it sits now its the 8v 1242 spi, but with the hotter cam from the mpi

Guys....I like the ideas...keep em commin!!!!! I used to own a Punto HGT once upon a time. Great engine but not that tunable!!! Its gotta be either the MEGA tunable Honda Vtec option or one of the Fiat Turbo Engines. The BIG bonus for the Honda Engine is it is ULTRA compact (I KNOW it fits in the olf shape mini....which is smaller than the Cinq!!), and very lightweight too!!

Ummm........choices eh??

p.s Insurance isnt a problem for me...cos im an old kiffer at 29!!!!

Chris,

Alex is right, Ive done it myself.
It came as a '75 (1242cc block with MPi head), so I had to swap the heads over. The hotter 75 cam is being used, maybe with a waffeur thin head (v.high comp)..to go for a power increase!

Ask away. PM probs better though if lengthy!
