Talking 6 speed sei mpi any ideas?

hi everyone, this is the first thing i've put on here, so it may not be the best.
I've just got a 6 speed mk2 punto gear box that i want to put on my seicento sporting mpi, does anyone know if they'll go together? how easy is it to do? will i have to change anything, driveshafts, gear linkage etc etc...

anyone out there fancy helping me fit it? i'm up in Barnsley

Re: 6 speed sei mpi any ideas?

Which model did the 6 speed box come from?

The reason I ask is the 6 speed box from the Punto 55 IIRC the 6th gear islower than the 5th on the Cento box, so its not a worth while conversion as on motroway type speeds etc you will be sitting at higher revs which means more noise and more fuel used. Though yes it could maybe make the car accelerate quicker, though again open to debate as more gear changes are needed to reach speeds, so time take to change gear could negate the

The 6 speed box is also longer so while extend into the wheel arch further which means the wheel will hit it on full lock which canmean a MOT failure if noticed by tester as wheels are not meant to hit anything.

Plus if going to extent of changing a box, is worth while gettinga new clutch kit while you are at it for piece of mind.

Aaron.

Not hard to do it on your own though, a weekend is more than log enough
