| Re: Got new seats in the Sei Well. the MOT in Holland is not as strict as in the UK, so that's not a problem. It passes the MOT with no problems.

Just wondering how practical it would be to fit these style seats using normal belts then for safe UK use? Blueyes - looks like you still have old belts mounted - can you tell me if they are OK to use if neccesary (quite like the idea of flash looking seats)!!! Custard - if I end up removing the rear seat (or in Blueyes case not carrying people in the back) surely the rear belt points would be safe enough under the load of just the front harnesses instead of a rear belt ?

i ran harnesses off the rear mounting plates for a while, then got the install so put them in the floor. however i do think its advised that if theres is no role cage you get proper spreader plates in the floor

Why would the harnesses put so much more strain on the mounting points than rear belts with my fat mates in?

the rear mounting bracket are designed for one seatbelt, wether that be the rear seatbelt as its actulally designed for, or the top strap of a race harness. however, although it is possible to run the top strap of your harness onto this mounting bracket, it is advised that you install separate mounting point for them in the floor. for the very simple reason that the back seat belt mount was never designed to hold a front harness, this is not to say it wont! if you had spreader plates, this would mean you can still have the back seatbelts fully operational, and have harnesses in the front. i had, and know many people who have harnesses atatched to that back seat belt poit, its just not the "proper" way of doing it. but as mentioned previously your really not meant to run harnesses off anything but a roll cage.

| Re: Got new seats in the Sei If your only ment to use hassnesses with a cage...then why can you buy floor mounted harnesses,e.g.eyebolt fixings(like mine ) and harnesses to be strapped to a cage??
