Re: My seicento Project

not really done much today was freezing lol, put new gator on driveshaft, done gearbox mount, fitted anti roll bar, sorted most of the wireing out got 3 wires left which i dont know what they do?

orange/blue

red/blue

guessing black is a ground but it doesnt seem to ground out anywhere spliced the sei 899cc loom into the sei sporting loom wasnt all that hard actually but cannot test if its alright till i get oil in the car and connect fuel lines up

also fitted my novatech strut brace

tomorrows job is to get water/uno turbo radiator fitted + hopefully test engine starting up and also ajust my handbrake cable

Re: My seicento Project

Looking fab, hope it fires up OK

Checked my temp on a drive tonight and it was at 68 degrees with the standard mpi rad going pretty hard, so even though its a turbo, be careful the temp isn't too cool. Mine was fine in warmer months since i fitted the gauge, 75-90, but i dread to think what it will be like in mid winter.

Re: My seicento Project

sorry kritip didnt go under the car today just been working on oil and radiator today.

1st of all i modded the uno turbo radiator and fan turned the fan around so its similar to the cinq/sei setup but found out its no way going on the car as it hangs even lower then the sump of the engine lol so had to settle for a nice new aluminuim sei/cinq one (was a spare i had of a cinq lol)

anywho, tried to cut hole in car frame using a hole saw well it lasted all of 2 minutes then the teeth were flat lol so had to go to cromwell tools and buy a propper bit of kit which made the 30mm hole in about 10seconds the oil cooler pips now run inside the frame of the car to get them totally out the way

received the oilfilter from custard this morning (bloody postman didnt come till 12 so couldnt leave the house to go to my dads (where im doing the conversion) till after he come, tried to put the filter on and it wouldnt fit

after bit of a think i saw that one of the bolts on the turbo manifold was longer then it should be so i sawed this 5mm bit of thread off so it was level with the top of the nut on the manifold

the filter still wouldnt go on nearly but not quite after bit more thinking i thought id take about 3-4mm off the sandwich plate thread and after i done this the renault 5 turbo filter fits on no problem at all and have alot of room to get it on and off

oil cooler mounting brackets are welded to frame of the car made from 2mm thick irom plate lol stronger then the car itself, tried using some strips of metal from my spare bonnet but its fiat quality metal just like what mum uses to wrap the chicken up on sunday so much like foil and bends too easily lol so that was a no go.

tommorrows job is to fit intercooler front mount stylee as i still have a hell of a lot of room on the front of my car because of how far the bodykit sticks out so that shouldnt be a prob, cant work out what silicon joints/bits i need till the IC is bracketed on and secure just hope i dont get too much lag coz of the size of it lol (frontera IC)

tomorrow gonna mount IC, finish off my exhaust (hopefully), top up with oil, and sort fuelines/regulators out then try start the engine (cant run too long as no water pipes on)
