(S) space saver wheel

ok been looking at alloys for my Sei and obviously 13s burn a huge hole in ur pocket so been looking at 14s. but was thinking what you do bout the spare wheel? obviously the standard space saver wont fit no more and a 14 wont fit in the wheel well. so what people done? are you just stuck to tyre weld?

why wont the spare fit?depending on the bolts you may have to carry spare standard bolts but it fits fine(all about rolling radius)and yes the 14 wont fit in the well as it will be too wide anyway

ur puttin a 13 on a car where the rest r 14 wont the car lean onto the corner where the space saver is?

why wont the space saver fit? your changing the size of the wheel not the PCD. you will have a little lean on the car but its only designed to get you home to get a new tyre any way.

well i wouldnt go trying to crack your 0-60 personal best but it will get you home
personally ive got so much ice in the boot that i carry tyre weld as well.
remeber kids your breakdown cover will have it in the small print you need to carry a suitable spare wheel

ah bummer never thought of that. so if u have a blow out and tyre weld wont block it will you not be covered by ur breakdown cover?

sure about that one? I know Smart cars do not carry spare wheels (not possible as the front and rear wheels are different sizes, and would be impossible to carry two spares!). Wonder what breakdown people would sayabout them

well how bout this idea. if you put 14's with low profile tyres on would the overall diameter be the same as the space saver? so still be able to use it safely without a leaning car?

to be honest mate... the different between 165/55/13 tyres, and 185/50/14 is less than 1 inch anyway, so im sure if there wasnt any other choice then driving home on the space saver at a slow speed wouldnt cause too many problems

take a lump hammer to the inside the spare wheel well untill u can get a 14" wheel in there?
