check out the latest Max Power (with the Nemisis Nissan 350z on the cover) It has a very good guide on spraying your interior parts.

Im getting some red paint this weekend to do my dash, ashtray, interior lock bits, rear speaker grills and various parts.

Have a look at my website linked below, I used Plasti-Kote from B&Q. As long as you put the primer on in very thin coats (e.g. just a dusting first) it goes on fine and is quite hard wearing.

Welcome to the forum too!:)

if u want to use normal car paint, the best thing to do is sand down the parts to remove lumpy bits and other little marks..

GIve it a few coats of primer.
Spray it the colour you want.
Use laquer to seal the finish and make it hard wearing but it will need plenty of the stuff

Just used Plasti-Kote primer and Plasti-Kote paint, no lacquers or anything else.

I sprayed part of my dash yellow. I used Fiat white primer first and Broom Yellow spray paint afterwards. I was intending to lacquer it aswell but it doesn't need it. It seems to be pretty hard wearing, hasn't faded (it's been done a while) and colour matches the rest of the interior exactly!

On Fix it's advice, I used Plasikote red paint and primer. Did an excellent job of painting my rear speaker grills. First time I had sprayed anything as well...got a bit over-excited and used a whole little can of red paint for the two grills :I

The normal stuff like painting is cheap and pretty easy. White dials. New gear knob. New hand brake handle. New gaitors. Clean it :). Clear all the crap out of it! Second hand buckets (cheap!)

I did up my interior fairly cheaply.
I sprayed the dash, got a new gear knob and gaitor, harnesses, speakers and mats. I'm a student too so shopped around on the internet for the cheapest deals. I even managed to get £80 worth of a MOMO gear knob and gaitor for £30 online from a company that were selling up. They had advertised old stock in October last year, I rang them in May (this year) and luckily they still had some stuff left.
It's worth always enquiring about old stock and display items, it saves a few pounds! :p
