Sporting Instruments in a Cinq SX?

Has anyone retrofitted dials and instruments from a Cinq Sporting into the lower models??

Is it possible? I really fancy a revcounter........ and white dials.
Trust Lockwood not to do dials for the Cinq S\SX

Arse

all gauges should work except for the Tacho. the 899cc versions are not fitted with the wiring for it. Your best bet for a tacho is an aftermarket dial but make sure it has a 2cyl setting for it to work or it'll only show half the revs;)

Well, what wiring does the Sporting Tacho need? It appears Haynes in their wisdom omitted it from the wiring diagrams!!

Wiring the Sporting tacho in cant be any harder than an aftermarket one can it?

maybe. dunno, the haynes manual shows a pic of the tacho connector inside the instrument box but it's only got 3 wires for it. Most Tacho's have 4 wires or more. This could prove tricky and i would consult a profesional auto-electrician[:0]

All ya have to do is wire one wire to the live power one to the earth one to illumination and one to the negative on the coil but you will need to et a 2cyl rev counter im on the look out for one but aint found one yet.

Right the sporting tacho has illumination by bulbs behind it, so no 4th wire.

LOgically one will be 12v+ constant,
The Second Earth
and the Third will be ignition coil pulses.

What colours are the wires.. the manual is really really helpful on this one.

it's not really wires, more of a brown plastic strip (like a ribbon cable). The manual is useful but only up to a point cos it don't show any info on wiring diagram for the tacho[V] and it doesn't indicate whats what on the strip. :(

yeah want a small one to pillar mount along with a water temp gauge.
I have been told that if there are no wires already behind the vent in the dash on a sei you ust use them if no you wire it from the fuse box there is a fuse for the coil. havent had chance to have a look yet but will do soon
