very good point.... personally i think he should go for a decent suspension set up, can get a really good set of springs an shocks for under £300.

leave him with some money for somethin else.

My exhaust is looking a little precarious though so i'm considering changing that aswell. Does anybody know how good the Ansa exhaust sounds?

My MOT is April Pete. It had it's first one last year and breezed through it and it's had no problems since so should be ok. Tyres are quite new too.

Will the lowered suspension help reduce the dire understeer?

yes, it will reduce understeer because u get less bodyroll

Uprated ARB helps too but so does stiffer shocks.

Ive got a PSX kit, with adjustable dampers and an OMP strut - i thought id finished with the suspension - guess not!
