Carbon Style Number Plates

OK, so I finally got them and thought I'd post up a couple of pics. Personally I think they look awesome!

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

Been covered before mate, not illegal - what makes you think it would be?

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

Well DemonPlates sold them to me as being 100% legal, so if I get fined I'll just take it up with them

They cover all of the legal requirements - letter spacing/font/size etc and the manufacturers details are on there as well, so no-one can really complain

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

I think the reason that one is illegal is because it doesn't have the manufacturer details on it - the lettering looks spot on tbh. Also - curse those evil birds :shakefist:

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

Doubt it, if anything they probably weigh more as the lettering (on mine anyway) is domed

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

They're illegal technically for 2 reasons -
1) The lettering should be pure black, being carbon effect they're not
2) the only thing that should be on the left side of the plate is the blue GB sign with the euro stars around it.

But basically as long as the plate recognition software the police use can read the plates you're fine unless you give the police the reason to come down on you like a ton of bricks or you've got an officer that's looking to be low on his road crime points target that month.

Re: Carbon Style Number Plates

I'm going to have to pull my finger out and get my business set back up, I can make numberplates like this, if I get chance I'll have to have a play next week, see what I can come up with.

I think wood effect ones would be better! Tom gets let off (by me, if not the feds) cos his are real carbon.
