| Ticking dials Evening all. Loving this bank holiday lark - no 'Sunday night blues' here!! I've had a fault for aaaages that I keep forgetting is there. Every so often, something in the instrument binacle starts ticking. I think it's the milometer. The speed of the ticking varies precisely with the speed of the car, not the revs, and I don't think its the trip gauge as I press the button to reset that and the noise is unaffected. So by process of deduction it seems it must be the milometer. Anyone had any experience of said ticking? Is it easy to DIY? Many thanks and enjoy your bank holidays Simon

| Re: Ticking dials Really? Its been doing this for about 3 years! And it only does it every few days. So odd. The speedo needle is steady and seems accurate (in average speed 50 zones on the M1 when I'm at 50 on the gauge, I'm at precisely the same speed as the traffic). Really seems like milometer to me... but Fingers clearly knows a lot more than I do, so I guess I'll get the speedo cable changed! Cheers

| custodian of imola blue | Re: Ticking dials Might simply need attaching properly. Normally they'll tick, then give wierd readings, then fail. An alternative might be that someone has been clocking it (or trying too). Often this'll leave the drums on the speedo slightly out of alignement or with paint missing.
