Them Blue Lights.......

You know the ones - lots of cars and wagons seem to have, fixed NOT flashing Blue lights for styling reasons i would think - my question is - what is the Legality of these?¿?
Are they legal so long as they DONT flash?¿?
I,m not putting them on my car, it occured to me that i notice these lights in my rear view mirror and am gripped by momentary horror thinking its the Rozzers!!
If they make you noticed that much i was thinking of putting a couple on the front of my kawasaki....

Re: Them Blue Lights.......

If they are used it your obligitory lights eg sidelights then they have to be a specified colour and E marked. The colour for sidelights is white so blue lights in sidelights/headlights/spotlights is a no no. Indicators are amber so this is also a no no.

If you fit them as an optional light eg chav windscreen washer lights then as long as they are not red and don't flash then you will be fine.

Re: Them Blue Lights.......

Not sure about those, would have to have some sort of e mark as has been said

the audi LED strip lights which are on most of new range of audi are available aftermarket, there are some on a few panda 100hp, they are ok, wondering where they would go on a kawasaki bike though

Suppose being the ''summer'' and biking season anything awry with a bike only gives the rozzers an excuse to pull you and check over bike.

Re: Them Blue Lights.......

Having blue lights on a vehicle I thought was illegal, the only vehicles having them being emergency services!

the black grille above the headlight has loads of space behind it http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...%3Den%26sa%3DN and it wouldnt get in the way of the Horns that are in there, i think it would make me more noticable using it as a daylight riding light.....just a thought....

Re: Them Blue Lights.......

White lights to the front
Amber to the side
Red and amber to the rear (or white if reversing)

Anything else on a vehicle is illegal. But that doesn't stop every other white van on the roads having those blue lights in their windscreen. My brother has them in his van, and I think he bought them out of the Sun newspaper, don't know how they got away with that, perhaps sold for show purposes only???

The fashion police may also pull you over for having them
