| Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs Hi all, If any of you are in the market for some 'blue/white' xenon effect bulbs, I have recently got some from an specialist lighting seller on ebay which are absolutely superb - rayandmark is their user name if you want to have a look. They are only £7.49 inc. postage for the H4 fitment. I had some Philips 'Bluevision' xenon headlight bulbs in before which weren't cheap, as you'll know, and I thought they were really good until I got these new ones. When I fitted them I just did one side so I could compare with the remaining Philips one and it was much brighter and more 'bluey/white' like real HID gas headlights as found on BMW, Merc etc.. In fact, the Philips one looked 'yellowy white' like the original factory bulbs in comparison!! They are rated at 4000K which is what gives them their whiteness and are fully 'e' marked. I was so impressed with I them bought the same 4000K bulbs in the H7 for the front foglight as well! Hope this helps a few people out and saves them a few quid.

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs Sounds interesting, I am about to buy philips H4's soon due to driving by night mostly in winter. Are they road legal? And what is the brand/model? Also, I've been told that some of those may damage the reflective surface of the headlight, have you noticed any of this on yours so far? Cheers!

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs Yes they are legal and standard wattage - 60/55 watt which is the normal for H4 headlight bulbs. The only ones that aren't are some of the 'RING' blue effect bulbs which are 100/80 watt and are not 'e' marked and are labled as being for off road use only anyway. These bulbs that I'm recommending from ebay seller rayandmark (item number 120175482907) are 'e' marked and so are totally road legal, they have been through an MOT on my car in August with no problems. I also bought some in the H7 fitment for the front foglights and they, too are excellent. And no they won't damage the headlights (maybe those Ring 100w would?). They are by far the closest replacement bulb I've seen to the genuine HID gas lights as seen on BMW, Merc etc.. As I said previously, a Philips 'Bluevision' bulb looked 'yellow' in comparison to these and they are supposed to be amongst the best blue/white xenon bulbs available!

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs I know you won't be disappointed. I mean I wouldn't have ordered the H7 ones afterwards for the fogs if the H4 ones hadn't been great. Also, the guy has a 100% 3166 feedback score and all he sells are bulbs so that in itself says something.

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs Told you he was a good seller, although I can't recall getting mine that quickly . Just a quick thing, which I'm sure you already know - don't touch the actual bulb whilst your fitting it, hold it with a tissue or something, or do what I did if you've got some, and put on a pair of those very thin rubber gloves like what mechanics and surgeons use. It's something to do with the sweat on your hands affecting the glass. Yeah, winter days suck .Oh, and if you've got standard halogen bulbs at the moment, just fit one side and switch on to compare the difference.

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs There is one thing that puzzles me. In the box there is an UV sign stroked. What does this mean?

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs For the love of god don't get blue bulbs, they make it really hard to see properly at night. Its why the french have yellow, its better at cutting through low visiblity. If your going to do anything then wire your headlights to relays using high quality wire and upgrade the bulbs to 130/100w's. I also make it a rule not to buy anything from someone that doesn't know how to turn caps off and also makes me scroll side to side on my 1400x900 resolution.

| Re: Inexpensive but really good Xenon bulbs Sorry about the image quality, my camera phone isn't great. The tubular foam thing covers the lightbulb to protect it. Brand/model seem to be Autoland Xenon 4000K, which I can't find anywhere lol. I will go and fit one now so I don't have to do 2 lightbulbs in the dark later on, and so I can compare this one with the regular lightbulb.
