sizes

just wondering what cars are the same or the closet to being the same size as a cinq? im thinking of buying a front bumper from another car and making it fit a cinquecento, but im not sure which other cars would be a close size match.
i was thinking of a yaris, corsa or a reanult 5 as being close

Re: sizes

dont really think it will matter to much about the width you could always just cut a section out to male it the right size. You need to be lookin for something with the same sort of boxy shape to get a good fit and for it to look good. You'd be best lookin at cars from late 80's early 90's.

Re: sizes

My Cinq had a Renault 5 front bumper on it, made by Carisma. It was a very close fit around the wheel arches in terms of shape, obviously it needed cutting down in the middle to make it fit properly.

Re: sizes

any bumper you buy thats not designed for that car is gonna involve some work to make it fit. your as well picking a bumper design you like and getting it made to fit. rather than finding a car that is close in size then limiting your options. for instance my back bumper is mainly mk5 golf, which is alot wide than a cinq, just made to fit. my front has 307cc, n some other bigger cars just all made to fit.

Re: sizes

As Alaina says, its alot of work whatever you do so don't narrow your options.. Don't forget standards and aftermarket bumpers can be cut up so theres literally millions you can choose from..

Was mentioned you need a boxy style bumper but i think thats wrong, you just need a good eye and imagination, Alaina's cinq is exactly what i mean here, look at her front bumper, its well curvy and if i had seen it off the car before i saw the complete car i reckon i would've thought that will look gash but it looks excellent..

Suggest brushing up on some photoshop skills and have a play around..

and don't forget you can look at foreign cars too

oh and keep us posted
