Sei sporting Tyres

Hi guys,

First off, this forum is packed with useful info so keep up the good work.. some amazing rides too =)

well back to topic, i currently have some silly colway retread tyres fitted on my sei sporting abarth. they're 165/65 R14.

now im opting to buy a good brand, the likes of yokohama or toyotyres (since they are within my budget circa 40GBP for each tyre tops!)

so far ive seen 175/60 & 175/50 which seem nice, however im open to suggestions on what kind of tyre to get and also any brand which wud be ideal!
a slightly lower profile tyre is wat im looking for =)

cheers,
Chris.

ps what do u think of: Barum or Kumho or Marangoni tyres? are they relatively cheap?

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

For Sei Abarth rims fit 185/50 14 rubber, much more variety in that size from all the major manufacturers like Continental, Yokohama, Goodyear etc

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

where do you get yokos for under 40 pounds from??? My-tyres are the cheapeat ive seen and they arent under 40 pounds

Kumhos were standard on VW's at one point if not still today and i think they are on the Kia's at the minute, but again if not have been at a point. If these compnaies seem willing to sign a contract with the tyre manufacture to provide tyres for all their new cars then they must be doing something right

the tyres under 40pounds were 175/60 toyo's, which im guessing is a good brand.

my dad had a set of kumho's and they wer terrible (he says) so ive kinda ruled them out. ive seen some nifty 195/45 on a sei recently and they looked Fiiinnee! probably expesive as heck :\

thanks guys so far

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

195/45 are too wide for a 5.5J wheel.

Standard fit was the 175/50, which can be hard to get hold of.

Best bet is 185/50 as per Aaron's suggestion.

Kumho tyres are used on the Group N (IIRC) rally cars. Not got any first hand experience of them though.

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

I had 195/45/14 fitted but as chaos said they are too wide for the abarths and mine were aftermarket and a 6j rim IIRC.

However i will agree they do look nice and meaty

You cant go wrong woth toyos, The mondeo lot swear on the toyo proxes

They'll knock your speedo way out, as well as looking daft (185/60). Fingers has 185/55 on his Sei, and has said that he would fit 185/50s to it given the chance.

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

with 55 or 60 the sidewalla are gonna be massif, 185/50 is the best size, not gonna reccomend what brand as everyone has there own opinion, myself would go uniroyal's, continental's or yoko's but itss up to you but defo get 185/50's

Re: Sei sporting Tyres

well the thing is that i havent been able to find 185/50s OR 175/50s!

especially since im on a tight budget... i think im gonna go for 185/55 unless i stumble over something better suited!
