| Re: lowering a sei I would say check one of custards FAQ's but there is none on lowering well you need a set of lowering springs either 20, 40 or 60mm drop and to fit them is basically a peice of piss you will need -socket set -jack -axel stands -spring compression tool (can do it without but very hard and not recomended from persanol experiance) there are 3 bolts i think on each strut in the engine bay then is a matter of taking the bottom of the suspension unit off the brake disc hub once the suspension unit is off dismantle the unit and take the old spring off, put the new one on and put it all back togather and reverse the process if u just take the wheel off and have a look its pretty self explanitary the back is basically the same by princaple

| RIP L181 VBB | Re: lowering a sei You have 13'' wheels as you are just a sporting based on the comments in your sig. Do you plan to keep original wheels or upgrade in the future?

Thanks: 18 Trader Rating: (0) Drives: | Re: lowering a sei i dunno.. i'd eventually like some nicer wheels but if i lower.. they cant go much bigger, can they? cos they'll rub on the arches or whatever it is.. i could lower and get some nicer 13".. if there is such a thing.. or could i just buy biiiiig wheels and it'll make it LOOK like its lowered without actually having done anything?!

| Re: lowering a sei well there is a limit to your plan, cinqs wont go any bigger than 15" without arch mods id recmend a 14" wheel as its the best comprimise with a 35mm drop ?

| Scandinavian Passion.... | Re: lowering a sei a Sei will take 16" rims with 195/40R16 tyres with no mods, besides steering rack limiting which is required at 15" so fair game imo, as long as you don't lower it more than 15mm

| RIP L181 VBB | Re: lowering a sei The bigger the wheel upgrade the less the drop. 40mm on 14'' and correct spacer/tyre choices will see a nice looker from the outside and a better driving experience and lack of rubbing/scraping etc etc issues for the driver

| custodian of imola blue | Re: lowering a sei I don't think there's anything to be gained by going for more than a 40mm drop. And there's really nowt to be gained with an NA Cinq on going larger than 14". The guide above is a great one. For the rears, soak everything in WD40 the day before, put the car up on axle stands at the back (in gear and chock the front wheels), slacken the bolts at the top of the shock (the nuts are welded on, just use a spanner to hold them), put a jack under the spring so it just takes the weight, undo the bottom bolt, let the jack down, and the spring will pop out. It's worthwhile (shocks have an effective life of 40,000 - 50,000 miles only) replacing them at the same time.

| I Need Beer | Re: lowering a sei To still be a useable car you can't really go lower than 30mm. With that sort of drop you should easily be able to fit 14" wheels in the future if you deceide to.
