Using the autoglym products at the mo, but before those, i was using t-cut colour fast is it called? I can't remember now.

Either way, to cut the story short .... my black plastic door handles are now patchy red because of the polish. As is the door trim in parts.

I bought some turtle wax 'gloop' that is supposed to bring it back to black. It does......but not for long. Fades eventually & back to square one.

Is there anything out there that you can apply to the plastic & that's it job done? Don't need to keep applying every 5 mins. Or is it a case of tough titties & use masking tape if doing that in future?

AG Bumper Care is pretty good for black plastics, probably their best product, some use baby oil, peanut butter, others have suggested a heat gun used very carefully (I wouldn't), or any number of products from the usual crowd. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a miracle cure for ensuring black plastics stay so long term. Modern plastics are much more resistant to the effects of the sun but can still fade, would guess that it is causing physcial damage to the plastic. Keep applying the cream :D

Kev the best way i found was to first use a cloth soaked in Auto Glym Fast glass cleaner to strip the residue off the plastic then the bumper shine gell..

btW that T-cut colour magic is poor The best stuff i have used recently is Autoglyms Super resin polish (basicly a wax and very light rubbing compound in one) but you still need to avoid the plasic with it
