soapy water is okay!
Don't use Supagaurd unless you get the seats minted clean cos you won't get any stains out after you apply it.
Try your local car dealers Valet Bay as I know when we supaguard a car you never use all the interior spray especially if the car has leather. and the tins just start to collect. If they are nice they may give you a half can! It will be more than enough to do a punto!:)
1 supaguard pack will easy do 2 average size cars.

I had to replace a complete interior in one of my Mini's when I used soapy water as it left water stains.

If you have to use water, steam clean them, and then dry them thoroughly afterwards. But I wouldnt advise it.

Not sure what you did there then. As head valeter in a Fiat dealership I have to advise the valeters, and deal with myself some of the dirtiest most disgusting cars you have ever seen. From dog hair so woven into the farbric you can only burn and dye to cover it. To having to shampoo Blood out of roof cloths (an attempted suicide) whenever we have to shampoo a car because the dry foam upholstery cleaner just isn't up to the job we use soapy water a soft scrubbing brush and a Numatic George vac. Although as long as the seats aren't soaking any vacuum will do.
When you clean a patch of a fabric, once it is dry it will be a different colour to the rest of the fabric. That is why when you clean fabric you do the entire section so that when it dries it dries the same shade.(y)

What about one of those water bassed carpet cleaner/vacumme? the ones that take a carpet cleaner, hot liquid, and squirt it out and suck it up?

Kristian

That will do the job aswell. aslong as you can get a hold of one with a narrow head the one you would use for a carpet is too wide to use on the contours of a car seat.(y)

it should although its kinda hard to tell. the main thing to remember is what ever you use make sure you use it over the entire section of fabric that way if it does darken or lighten it slightly there is no way to tell.

carpet cleaner is the same machine as we use. Just have too make sure it comes with a small head attachment.
getting the car valeted is always easier. You don't do the work. :D
Although you get 2 different kinds of carpet cleaner that I'm aware of, one is a trolley type thing if you do hire a machine make sure its not one of these it will be of no use to you other than to clean the carpets in the house!

It was more by mistake but I found using Vanish Oxi Action Carpet and Upholstery Stain Remover worked a treat on my sporting seats. After spraying and srubbing down the whole seat, hoovered them and left them to dry, both seemed to return back to their original blue shade, as if they looked very new.

The beast what do you find the best method of removing Saw dust (i work in a timber factory and spend forever trying to remove it :bang: )

just out of curiosity are the white marks limescale deposits? if so surely De-mineralised (battery top up) water and detergent would be better:confused:
