| T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? I've got an 02 broom yellow punto. I recently had the front and rear bumpers aswell as the left rear wing replaced and/or resprayed (with the original paint code). It doesn't match perfectly, however. Would t-cutting help blend it all in? Is t-cut the best thing to use, & am I better off using coloured or original? cheers.

| Re: T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? Well, it's difficult to take it back, as it was resprayed because it mismatched but the respray was a surprise present from my mum; If I take it back i'll look ungrateful. The front bumper was resprayed a couple of months back, and didn't match. I just got both bumpers done again, rear matches almost perfectly (can only tell a slight slight difference in perfect natural light and nobody else would ever notice, I'm just finicky) - front matches poorly on one side (left), and averagely on another. Maybe the left wing was resprayed at some point before I got the car. Perhaps I just notice these things because it mismatched so badly before, and I'm really conscious of it? I'll try to post up some pics tomorrow afternoon (After I've put my new alloys on) and see what you guys think.

| The modfather | Im sure your mother would not think your ungratefull at the end of the day she would expect the job to be done correctly this is becomeing the problem in this country now we pay to have a job done and not just motor repaires they the supposed tradesmen quite often do an inferior job and they expect you to pay up and not complain well Im sorry its not on and something needs to be done to address the problem its getting out of hand

| Re: T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? if a relative bought me a TV say and it was not working right,i would take it back. same here, my mum would insist i took it back. why didn't you complain at the bodyshop? they work under a code of condult. if its a mismatch and the bodyshop is any good, they would never of let it out like that. these places work on reputation. do the right thing and get the car looking as it should. as it stands. that car is worth a lot less then it should. its possibly unsellable as well.

| Re: T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? I've already been told that I'm ungrateful and "not to complain about it any more because it's the best you're getting". As you can see, I don't want to aggravate the situation with her any more.

have you tried a polishing compound, as that should work better than t-cut.

| Re: T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? Hey chris, I'll try that, want a really fine one though - not one that takes massive care to apply, don't want to see metal. Got any recommendations anyone? You've got to understand that this woman has issues, and will 99% kick me out if I take it back and complain.

if you want fine compound, use farcella G6. then use a good polish.

| Re: T-cutting. Best way to restore original colour? fortunately (perhaps) i discovered a small crack in paint (seems as if it's from where they screwed it on and the paint cracked as it tightened) on the left hand side, on the bumper. This is good, because it means that I'm taking it back tomorrow, they'll have to respray, and I can say "well make sure that you get the colour right this time or it'll be coming back again" She seems ok with me taking it back for the crack, too.
