Sei: Paraflu or any antifreeze?

Is Paraflu essential or does any antifreeze do for the coolant?

Thank you

Re: Sei: Paraflu or any antifreeze?

cool, that's answered my question. How do you drain the old coolant out the bottle? in order to put the new stuff in?

Thanks again

It's OK for you back home Custard to say this as we have nice soft water in Scoltand that is easily good enough for the coolant system, but down here in South England, especially when I lived in Bourenmouth, the water is so hard that I wouldn't use it as I've seen some real clogged up coolant systems in the few years i've lived down here with limescale!

I use a big bottle of cheap drinking water from ASDA 5L for about £2.50 job done, all the cars I have done this to have run cooler and heated up quicker after a good heavy duty coolant systems flush and change with new anti-freeze.

sorry i missed your reply.basically you need to release the lowest pipe so the coolant comes out. i assume your looking at the expansion tank which is too high and will only drain a litre at best

Re: Sei: Paraflu or any antifreeze?

If you look under the bumper you will see the radiator on the drivers side. The hose you want to pull of is the one coming off the bottom of the radiator - it might be difficult to shift, so try twisting it while pulling very hard!
