Two, I hope, simple questions.

First, can you use "T-cut" (or similar unbranded products) on modern cars with a clearcoat or laquer layer over the paint? I've only ever used it on older cars.
Wanting to smarten up her Panda a bit.


Second, has anyone got a good way to remove peeling laquer? Asking as the laquer is about 95% gone on the roof of my Alfa and it would look better if I could get rid of the last 5% that is still hanging on.

T-cut will not do much to the lacquer, but might help remove it.
The paint fades, but T-cut will not fix that as the lacquer is in the way.

If you remove the lacquer, the paint is unlikely to shine, no matter how much you polish it, as it was designed to be lacquered.

Sadly, only way to properly fix it is a respray. Depending on colour, might be possible to repaint using single paint, so no lacquer. Had that done on the Panda last year. Lacquer was peeling, paint had faded nicely from top to bottom.

As above, a local body shop will give you some good advice at the quote stage.

You can get T-cut for metallic paint finishes in most colours, as for the lacquer coat ,the only way will be to get a d/a sander and remove it /get resprayed.
