Hi,

I just wondered if anyone knows if you are able to extend Fiat warranty and the roadside assistance cover after it runs out?

I bought my car from Motor Village in Marylebone but ordered as live in Fife. I have had an email offering me their roadside assistance cover for £120? Is this likely to just be local or will they use a nationwide recovery service?

Any help would be appreciated!

Just roadside recovery £120 seems high to me. I think they AA Relay would be about £90

If you are after extended warranties - to cover the cost of breakdowns/parts/repairs then Google extended car warranties - there's lots to choose from but be very careful to check what they will, or more importantly won't cover - read their T&Cs and exclusions very carefully especially the 'con' that is when the failure of a part not covered under warranty, causes the failure of a part that is covered.

I was recommended to 'Warranties Direct', but I haven't looked in to it yet

You appear to be obsessed with breakdown cover.

I see from elsewhere you have a 2012 punto.

Fiat will not now offer you an extended warranty on a car that's likely been out of warranty for at least a year. You'll need to find a 3rd party warranty company.

Break down cover very much depends on what you want. The AA provide cover for out Mini and the Golf and we have ensured both are at the highest level to cover home start and European cover as we travel abroad a lot. There is little point going with a service that offers breakdown cover in Europe if you don't leave the county, as an example.

You need to buy a product that is right for your needs not just a product that the manufacturers sell as that could cost you a fortune and be completely inappropriate for what you need yourself.
