Waxing a black car

Well not my car refuses to stay looking clean, i might wax her give her a treat.

What the best wax to use on a black car? just normal car wax ?

What kind of wax? Hmm I'd avoid a brazillian or a airstrip as they are chav'ish.

Oh you mean polishing wax? Yeah normal stuff is fine. I use turtlewax and it makes washing it the next day a little easier. Black cars will refuse to stay clean. My white one is filty but you cant tell unless you stand up close!

Wax all over its the only solution....

As for the car if you want it to stay cleaner longer, wash it, and wax it every time the dirt will have less to cling to, and any water on the car (i.e. rain) will help wash off any dust or dirt between washes as it slides off the car.

Roll on next week, Payday and im on 12-8's so I will do a serious cleaning in the morning and get some pictures

auto glym do a wax designed for black cars, Ive always used auto glym and the black wax brings the 360 up a treat!!

if you want an easy wax to put on. try using Armorall 'car wax gel' as its amazing stuff, and only takes about ten minutes to apply (no elbow grease needed).

Try using Carnauba wax... not the liquid one though....

I use it on my cars and it gives a real deep shine and the water beads straight off the car....

My mate has a black Land Rover Freelander (Yuck)... and it brings it up a treat...

The one I use is Harly Wax... do a search on eBay and you'll find it...

Best to apply it with a sponge then let it dry, then use a decent polishing cloth to buff it up... it has no white bits and works brilliant....

Hello there, I'll give you some hints at how to make your vehicle's paintwork to come out in its deep super natural gloss.

One basic thing you need to know is the more you try to remove fine swirl marks, the more the vehicle's paint will be exposed with a super brillant shine.

1. Wash your car with plenty of car wash added to a bucket of luke warm water. Use a washing mitt if available as it deeply cleans the paintwork.

2. Dry off excess water and make sure you remove and dry water in every corners

3. Now if this is the first time you are attempting to wash, polish, clean and wax your car, then the best product is to use Meguiar's clay detailing. Well read the instructions correctly. What is does is it prepares the surface and makes your paintwork ultra smooth. Be sure its smooth on the touch!

4. Now, if you have scrathes or light blemishes, I recommed using Turtle wax deep cut, available from halford in a tube. Use circular motion and use dynamic force to remove these things. All your paintwork will now be ready and prepared.

5. Final touch to the preparation would be to touch and seal any stone chips or scrathes. Use a colour stick or prepare some colour coded paint to match your vehicle. Try and get them in a dispensing pen like a white eraser.

6. Now use a paint cleaner like Meguiar's paint cleaner to remove oxidation and do it all over the car. This will reveal swirl marks as well. Use a fine swirl remover all over the car and you'll be amased by the brillance even without the wax

7. If you want extreme paint protection and shine, use a colour match wax first. This will go in crevices not visible to human eye. Wax all over the car.

8. Final step, use carnauba wax to reveal the water look effect and excellent water beading. Use a microfibre cloth to wibe all the excess.

I totaly agree with the above, did this and what joy, the car looks great. when wasjing it next time makes work so much easier. I would add, you have to keep this up to keep a nice deep shine.

Thanks for the "How to" javednazeer, I need to give my car a good treatment ready for winter so I wrote all that down ( Well my wife did ) because my printers up the shoot and I'll give it a go when the weather allows

I take it this method applies to all colour cars and not just black ?
