Today I tried out the Jet Wash at my local Tesco, assumably all the ones in the UK offer the same machine style drive through so this applies to many of you.

Not the automatic drive through one! The one you get out and wash yourself by putting a pound in the machine!

Five settings,

1. Bug / Tar / Tyre Cleaner
2. Cold Pressure Shampoo
3. Foam Brush
4. Cold Pressure Wax
5. High-Pressure Rinse

You can switch between them as often as you like, inside the 2 minute 30 seconds interval , which costs £1 each go.

Now, I wouldn't be surprised if I made a balls of it, but I spent £3 and did the following: rinsed it(5) . sprayed it with the shampoo (2), brushed it over with the thick foam brush (3) then tried to wash this off with the wax. I finally tried to rinse it with the water again (5) and to use the extra time up sprayed the wheels with (1) the tyre cleaner one.

Is it the order I got wrong? Because the car is rotten looking still and to be honest unless it was my fault I wouldn't go back. I'm not sure how I should have went about this, but my question is have any of you used this and what order / tips would you give?

If I could figure it out and get a good result, I'd rather prefer going to Tesco as it is much more convenient than the old bucket and sponge!

maybe -you've "sealed" all the crud from somebodys pick-up truck- via the brush

onto YOUR bodywork with the wax.

at least you've probably got nice clean arches now, so an ideal time to do the actual visible bodywork..

2 bucket method will be fine now - always a great way to spot stone chips, car park dinks ,etc.
