-Always wait for engine cooling before working on any part of the cooling system.
- Remove the hose attached to the thermostat.
- Have a look at thermostat positon.
- Loose the bolts and remove the thermostat.
For changing engine thermostat you have to follow below mentioned points:-
- Old seal/ gasket is to be removed and clean the mounting surface.- Before installing the new thermostat, inspect the other cooling system service parts: coolant hoses, water pump and pressure cap(s)
- Install new thermostat and make sure that the copper heat-sensing element is toward the coolant flow coming from the engine. If installed upside down, it won’t function.
-Tighten the bolts evenly to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
- Re-attach the hose.
- Do a final visual inspection to ensure there are no leaks after the cooling system refill.
