Best way to paint an engine...

I currently have an engine bout to be put into my car but want to paint it up first...

So whats the best way of doing it?

Clean it with "Gunk" then get some petrol and scowering pad on it?

Then Whack a load of proper high temperature paint on it?

Any other ideas?

Re: Best way to paint an engine...

What you have sugected is fine as you will suprprised how clean it will come up.

I wouldn't bother even contemplated powder coating the block as there really is no need, hi-temp paint is fine.

When i had my engine out for the conversion i was tempted to paint it but after cleaning it all it looked fine plus my head was chemically cleaned when it was ported n polished so looked brand new anyway and as the head is really whats on display in the cramped Cinq bay thats what I would focus on.
