Sorry if this post is not in the right category I'm a bit new here

I have a really annoying problem with my Punto 1.2 active sport (52 plate).
When the engine is cold on a morning accelleration is really sluggish until about 3000revs, then i get a sudden surge of power. Also when the car is at low revs it frequently stalls, especially if pulling away from a junction. To prevent the car from stalling i have to rev the car to 4000revs and pull the clutch up very slowly then ease off the accelerator. Generally the car seems to have a massive loss in power and performance.
Things to note: the car had a service 3 months ago, ive just changed my spark plugs and leads 3 days ago and the timing belt and water pumt were also changed about 1.5 months ago.
Anyone got any advice?
