First time with clay...

Clayed my car for the first time today, and goddamn it needed it!

Firstly washed down with pressure washer set low, then wash with Zymol, dryed with microfibre cloths, clayed with Meguiars Quik Clay, then washed again with zymol, then waxed with Autoglym Aqua Wax... PHEW.

Loads happier with it, needs doing again an a couple of places but i'll save that for another day!

Re: First time with clay...

Looks very nice. May I recommend using a quality paste wax instead of Autoglym's Aqua Wax, it is designed for car sales forecourts so the cars on display can be given a quick 'wet-look' shine, it doesn't really offer any protection.

Re: First time with clay...

I've never used the PoorBoys wax so I would'nt like to comment. I would recommend Collinite or R222 Concours if you are looking for something around the £20 mark. Both of the above are excellent although the R222 doesn't have the durability of the Collinite.

Thanks for the kind words, that car was a real back breaker but worth the effort.

Re: First time with clay...

A product like Aqua Wax does have it's place as a quick post wash wax to add that little extra shine, easy on, easy off and will add a little protection.
