Light Scratches

i recently bought a black 2005 Fiat punto mk2b and it has a couple of light scratches, probably from car parks . My old car was a 97 pug 106 so light scratches were easy to get off with a rubbing compound or T-cut. but i don't want to damage the new paint work on this car, any ideas what i should use?

Re: Light Scratches

If they are just light scratches, i.e. you can't feel them with your finger nail then your old method is still good for your new car. If deep and you can feel the scratch but not broken into the primer then touch in some lacquer first.

Re: Light Scratches

depending on how deep they are you can also use a buffing machine with a g3 compound to remove or reduce the look of most scratches just be careful that you dont leave it in one place too long as you can go through the laquer, and just be careful of black as you can leave swirl marks but this is prob the best overall method

hope this helps
