Re: best polish

Most things by turtlewax and the like are good, you generally get what you pay for i think.

Best time to apply is probably just after the car has had a good clean

Wouldnt recommend polishing or waxing in the winter, waste of time

That's what I use, usually before a show

I also don't polish when the sun is shining, a nice dry overcast day seems best.

I use Autoglym Perfect Polishing cloths, I find that I get an excellent result with them.

I clean my wheels every week so I don't need to use a specialist wheel cleaner, but I do use their wheel cleaner on wheels that haven't been cleaned in a while and it works a treat. It's too harsh for every day use though IMO.

that way you use less polish and work it in well...

something like this

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/produc...roducts_id=382

or this

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/produc...roducts_id=137

and take it off with a new clean microfiber cloth

SRP is treated in high regard look at this thread about half way down the first page it shows what SRP can do

Thumbs up Re: best polish

done the car on saturday went to halfords got an auto glym complete kit, polish, conditioning shampoo, wheel cleaner and glass cleaner all for 19.99. Was a bit sceptical when i read the polish and what it will do ie rain water will bead off the car but blow me down with a feather it actually works and the wheel cleaner worked a treat on my wheels nice and shiny alloys now (apart from the kerb damage caused by the previous owner) glass cleaner is excellent to would defo recommend to anyone

That's exactly the time when you need to and should be doing it!!

Oh, and apart from the 'Gloss Guard' sealant - the rest of the Turtle Wax products are rubbish!!
