car washes cause lots of damage to paint work.

tar remover should get off tree sap. then T cut the car to restore the paintwork.

Re: please help me! before my paint work goes funny!!

ohh look a local lass

best option for removing the residue Its actually called honey dew its the by product of aphids.

as the others have said hot soapy water (car shampoo not washing up liquid) mixed stronger than usual.

and plenty of it

the problem with a car wash is they are often very aggressive and abrasive dirt from other cars gets lodged in the bristles and this leads to the risk of your car been scoured and it will stand out a mile on black paint...

By "new black punto" is it a grande punto or an older model just new to you? the grande's paint is very easy to scratch (trust me i found out) dont use a car wash brush (the sort that clips onto the hose pipe) and dont use a sponge as this traps grit against the surface of sponge and the car and scours the paint... your best off with a wash mitt (cheap ones can be had in Pound stretcher for a Quid..) just dont use the bug remover side on the body work but its ok on glass

have a look at this

In that case just try and find a higher spec model in a scrapyard or on ebay with the same coloured bumpers as yours and just change the bumpers over. If you find a set it will save you ££££

Re: please help me! before my paint work goes funny!!

he he no intergalactic potion required! just hot enough water to make your hand red and a good sponge off, some times if the cars really dirty ( both my cars are white) i use the misses stardrops from under the sink first then a good washwax, but if you leave tree sap on too long it will eat into your paint and leave little dots and you will never get rid off them guaranteed! beware!! Ant!
