Good spotting!
Big-ups to that guy (as they say) for repairing Porsche wheels himself. It's nice to know that not all Porsche drivers are tossers

It's reassuring that such a repair can be done with the wheel on the car. However, all four of my wheels have numerous scratches, even into the spokes themselves, so I'm going to remove the wheels and have the tyres removed, then paint the whole wheels. My wheels are also a dark grey metallic (pretty much 'shadow chrome') so the chances of a paint match are less great, meaning that painting the whole wheel is the way to go.

Rather than spot putty, I will be using a fine-finishing filler with hardener - more durable and less likely to shrink in the long term.

When I finally get around to this job, I'll make a guide

-Alex
