Hi Guys,

Firstly I'm new to the forum (new to the fiat club) and am quite noobish with cars..

my problem that I am having with my Fiat Bravo 1.4 tjet is that the battery KEEPS going flat... it only takes 3(ish) days of not being driven to go flat but its driving me crazy! i'm going to take it to the garage and have the battery checked (if I can find someone to jump me) but wondered if anyone knew common faults because lets face it.. the garage will either say the battery is fine or replace it and most likely wont change a damn thing!

any help would be greatly appreciated otherwise I'll be forced to leave the fiat club and join someone else :(

How old is the battery? With nowadays product quality, it is not strange that batteries dies after 3 or more years. Maybe the battery is really gone bad. If the battery is healthy, then use multi meter to check charging power. With engine idling, you should have 13V and more. If charging is OK. Drain the battery for 2 minutes. Ignition to ON, without starting the engine. Turn on all power consumers, lights, fan, radio, all you can think of. If voltage goes below 12V, battery is empty. After 2 minutes, hold the multi meter on battery and have someone start the engine. If voltage drops below 10V = empty battery.
If you think that battery is good health, then it's a hard way for you. Meaning, something is draining the battery. Usually, something aftermarket added. Alarm, parking sensors, etc.
