Hi

New user, been searching on here for answers but haven't been able to fix it yet so hoping you guys can help.

Car is a 2007 1.9 8v Bravo (Diesel) and until this issue has been generally reliable.

Issue is that the immobiliser / security light on the dash won't go out, so I can't start the car.

Was towed to a garage who said they couldn't do anything, FIAT had a look said they couldn't diagnose the ECU and wanted £1k for a new one (politely declined).

I've tried the basics such as fully charging battery, checking connections, changed key fob battery. Tried to use my code reader (ELM327 v1.5a) and couldn't get it to connect but I've read that these cars can be tricky to read.

To make things harder I've got only got 1 key so I can't check if that is at fault.

Next thing I was going to try was an ECU repair place but thought I'd ask on here for opinions before spending more money on it.

Is it possible that the key has become corrupted? Would it be worth trying a new key before going down the ECU route?

did fiat guys check immobilizer antena?

Sorry for the delay, no I think they got as far as finding no response from the ECU and gave up.

Update is I've tried a new ECU and the car does now start but the engine management light is on.

Using multiecuscan the error code that came back was:

P1301 - Injector Coding - Invalid Signal

Displayed after a wrong / invalid injector coding. Perform proper injector coding. The reason for this fault is that ECU has received invalid signal from the sensor.

It seems the injectors are coded to the ECU but how would I find what values to put in the new ECU?
