Hi,
I've recently bought a Bravo 1.9 120 57 plate. The check engine warning comes on for about 2 secs and the engine management light also flashes (flickers) then both go out, car does not go into limp mode and no dtc's stored checked using an elm 327 and my sons snap-on device.
I have only noticed this when pulling away whilst the wheels are turned or going round roundabouts. Was thinking egr valve sticking but why just when wheels are turned? (more torque needed?), why no dtc stored?
Is this a known fault?

Any help appreciated

cheers Brian

Been a busy day.... egr, map, maf cleaned, it has new oil, oil filter and air cleaner
Yellow engine light flickers for about 2 secs when going round roundabouts and pulling away from junctions (going left or right but not straight on).
Thinking now it must be something to do with the power steering but why engine light?
Any ideas.
Brian

Have a look in owners book.
I'm confused you have two engine lights

Sorry should have made it clearer, the official Fiat name is the 'EOBD/INJECTION SYSTEM FAILURE' light. This flickers and 'CHECK ENGINE' is displayed for about 2 secs.

Ah thanks you were clear my brain is foggy.
Try scanning with multiecuscan software
You can download and try it for free.
It may come up with a code that snap on doesn't.
It's really very good.

Will order a Bluetooth adapter for my laptop. Been using torque (paid) on android. Just been out checking the corner lights and everything works as should (don't have menu to switch off). Will have a good look tomorrow to see if any sensor wires are snagging on steering rack.
Cheers for replying

No problem replying , it's an interesting issue.
Hope you find MES useful .
Please post if you find source of issue .

symptoms got worse (which is a good thing), now happening at low revs full acceleration on straights as well.
Fuel filter ordered and will fit Wednesday.
Still no dtc code stored.

Can you get live data from the ECU?
I am asking that to make sure you are actually connected.

Yes it connects OK, will try multiescan when bt dongle arrives for my laptop.

This may be a silly question but did you check the spark plugs?

That is what comes from reading other threads then coming back to this thread and not reading all the posts.
Especially my post about the Glow plug light , ha ha
