Hi All,
Can anybody tell me what the threaded hole is for which is directly behind the water pump on my Fiat Bravo T150 (2009). The hole is visible on the side of the block facing forwards. It is leaking coolant. This started leaking after a garage replaced my timing belt and water pump. Would the garage have to have removed or disturbed this to replace the water pump? There seems to be a bung inside it but it does not appear to have any feature with which to unscrew it by?

Thanks in advance of any help,

Stuart.

Hi,

Are you losing all your coolant or is it getting to a level and.not going any further?

Thant is not a freeze plug.
Post some more photos .. further away.. different angles.. so we can have an idea where it is.
I've done the timing belt and water pump two weeks ago on my t-jet but I don't know what i am looking at.
More pictures.

At any rate, you could always but a bolt in there with some special silicone (like the one to seal the water pump)

Any way .. just take it back to the garage and have them fix it.. they should be able to.

All,
I have took it back to the garage 4 times and leave it with them all day. Every time I go to pick it up they say they will put some metal filler down the hole but then come the excuses. Personally I think they are not prepared to do it because they are not getting paid anymore and are just wearing me down with promises and have no intention of repairing it. I am going to put a bolt into the thread with sealant and hope it cures it. Hope its nothing worse???

Annoying because I could have done the timing belt and water pump myself but was busy moving house and didn't have the time.

Take more pictures.. further away.

Then i can see what my engine has there .. if there is a plug or what ever.

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread but I have the exact same coolant leak next to the water pump as shown in the pictures above. The car is a 2007 150 Tjet and I've had the leak for quite a while already but I haven't had the time to do anything about it. It doesn't leak much so topping up the coolant with ~2 month intervals has been enough.

I would much appreciate it if someone could supply a picture of their car in the same spot to see if they have a bolt or plug in that hole. Also does anyone have an explanation to why there would be coolant leaking from the hole? Is this a "feature" or is something broken inside?

Thanks!
