In my Bravo with climate control the lowest temp setting is Low, then 17 degrees. I believe the interior temp is already higher than 17 when getting into the car, but none the less the heater turns on heating it up to uncomfortable temps. I have to switch to Low if I want to Cool it down.
Could the temp sensor be causing this? Is it replacable?

Probably the well known climate control mixing flaps/connectors are to blame for your problem.

90% of all heating/ cooling/ noise from dash/ venting direction/ etc issues in the Bravo fitted with climate control are caused by some connector pieces braking.

PLEASE!!!!!!! Somebody make a sticky thread, describing all the issues with the climate control.
People have gotten tired of repeating the same answer 30 times a week.

My car does the same. I find it unlikely to be a result of a broken flap - if it was, surely the heater would stay hot even when the cooling system is set to LO?

I just put it down to the climate control being crap.

How is the air coming from the vents? hot as hell?
how is it when you set it to 17? just slightly cooler than hell?

Did you try to do the climate control reset? turn ignition on.. press and hold the two main knobs for 10-15 seconds? - that should also show an error if it cannot reset because one of the flaps does not work ( the error is not marked as such.. but if one of the countdowns does not go to 0 take it as an error.
This guy has an error:

You can also get MES on it and check for errors that way.
