Hi guys, could do with a bit of help

I have a 2009 bravo 1.6 diesel and the heater only ever gets luke warm, the car temperature always runs at about half way mark and doesnt overheat

Any ideas how to get the heater blowing hot?

Would that explain why the top radiator hose is stone cold when engine is warmed up?

Yes, probably. What temperature does the expansion tank get to?

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck at least partially open, and the efficiency of the diesel is preventing it heating up.

I took it for a run and then left it ticking over for nearly an hour. The car always runs in the middle of the temperature guage and doesnt overheat.
The bottom radiator hose got warm but the top one was stone cold yet the thermostat housing it connects to was hot?

it's the 2 x smaller hoses going into the cabin you need to test for HEAT

if they are staying cold - you've got a circulating issue:eek:

The 2 bottom hoses are warm. I also checked there was no air in the system with the bleed valve on top of the left pipe?

Remove cabin filter ( air conditioning filter ) and watch how this does change the situation.

Yes im going to try that as i have found alot of posts regarding climate control having issues with broken actuators......and i think mine is one of them :(
